The C60 Sapphire Edge opens a new chapter in the sapphire story with our first-ever luminous rubber strap, an ultra-wearable slimmer case and a new movement that delivers a power reserve of 56 hours.

The bezel is a sign of Christopher Ward’s refusal to rest on our laurels. Taking its cues from the retro-dive Aquitaine series, the bezel is also made from sapphire – adding lustre without losing practicality. And because this is a professional diving instrument waterproof to 300m, the bezel has been engineered to function at depth – just check that reassuring click for proof.

A watch that pushes so many boundaries deserves a strap to match. Step forward the Aquaflex, our first luminous strap. Constructed from FKM fluorocarbon rubber, it laughs in the face of whatever the elements throw at – and thanks to its luminous coating, delivers a glow after dark.

Power is provided by the Sellita’s 25-jewel SW300 automatic movement – visible through the sapphire case back. At just 3.6 mm high, it’s one millimetre thinner than the SW200-1, which was used on both the C60 #tide and original C60 Sapphire. It’s not only more accurate and robust than the SW200-1, but also has a power reserve of 56 hours.

Another upgrade is the case. Thanks to the slimmer proportions of the SW300 movement and the ingenuity of our design team, the 42mm Light-catcher™ case is now just 10.7mm thick – down from the 14.1mm of the original C60 Sapphire’s case. As with the original Sapphire, the beautifully proportioned dial is made from lab-grown sapphire crystal machined to just 0.6mm. Through the dial you’ll be able to see the inner workings of the high-performance Sellita SW300 automatic calibre, while the indexes and classic Trident handset deliver legibility and luminosity on land – and at sea.

Finally, and in keeping with tradition of donation that began with the C60 #tide, 2 percent of proceeds from the watch’s sale will go to our chosen charities.

At 25.6mm in diameter and with a height of 3.6mm – one millimetre less than the SW200-1 – its thinner profile helped us reduce the case thickness and increase the watch’s wearability.

Inspired by Christopher Ward’s Aquitaine retro-dive watch, the C60 Sapphire Edge has a pure sapphire countdown bezel, which adds a refined sheen without compromising toughness. As with all our diving bezels, the Edge’s has been engineered for a satisfying click – and to function perfectly on diving ascents.
